#WalkAbout with MichLanPhoto
Walkabout refers to a rite of passage during which male Australian Aborigines would undergo a journey during adolescence and live in the wilderness for a period as long as six months. In this practice they would trace the paths, or "songlines", that their ancestors took, and imitate, in a fashion, their heroic deeds.
#WalkAbout with MichLanPhoto is therefore my rite of passage. I travel throughout my homeland and abroad capturing my experiences and sharing them with the world.
Prints are available for many of the photos on this page as well as the Walk About Gallery. Email michlanphoto@gmail.com for more details.
View of the Hills (Jamaica)
One afternoon as I dazed out my bedroom window I noticed that I had a full view of the hills which was usually blocked by trees.
Lime Cay Sunset (Jamaica)
This photo was taken just after a photoshoot. We were packing up to head back over to the mainland when I noticed my friend washing out her hair by the edge of the water and thought what a great silhouette it would make with the sunset as the backdrop. I then noticed that a boat was approaching and so I asked her to stay a while longer while I waited on the boat to be in the prefect position.

Moon Obsession
Sometimes I get obsessed with things. Here are a series of shots taken that incorporate the moon. Or in the case of image 3, I just decided to call it the moon.

To travel is to live! Climbed out a window and onto a rooftop for this shot. Some might call it crazy... I call it living!

A work of art and a labour of love, the Little Chapel is possibly the smallest chapel in the world. It was built by Brother Déodat who started work in March 1914. His plan was to create a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes in France. The Little Chapel is beautifully decorated with seashells, pebbles and colourful pieces of broken china.
Just outside of Guernsey on my way back from France, the Queen Elizabeth passed by to say hi. MS Queen Elizabeth is a Vista-class cruise ship operated by the Cunard Line. She is the second largest ship to be constructed for Cunard, exceeded only by Queen Mary 2, and is capable of carrying up to 2,092 passengers.

Venice Walk About
Just some footage I've put together of our Walk About in Venice. The day got off to a rocky start as we almost missed our train so we were super excited when we actually got there. The weather was also not the greatest but that wasn't going to stop us and so glad we didn't make it because it actually turned out to be quite spectacular.
